Sarah Ball, client strategy director at Balls2 Marketing and social media expert for the glazing industry, talks about embracing Christmas on your social pages.
‘Tis the season to get social
Now that it’s December, we really can’t avoid Christmas any longer.
Even though it’s not the big day quite yet, it’s rolling around quickly and just like with shopping for presents and food, on social it’s best to be prepared.
During the festive period, homes are filled with family and friends, and homeowners realise they could do with adding a few new touches to the home. Keep all your social updated with messages about how you can help with New Year home transformations, ready for their 2020 calendars.
We’ve all experienced the Crimbo Limbo, where time seems to stand still between Christmas and New Year. You can take advantage of the lull if you’re open during this time. Don’t forget to let your followers know that they can pop into your showroom and start planning their 2020 projects. Post out what times and days you’ll be open, and you can try pinning your opening times post to the top of your Facebook and Twitter pages.
Let’s not forget that social is all about just that – being social. And this is never truer than it is at Christmas. Your followers would love to see your team participating in Christmas Jumper Day, some special snaps from your Christmas Party, and what delicious treats are being enjoyed.
Have a great Christmas break – I’ll be back in 2020 with more tips. If you have any special requests for social media advice, just Tweet me @Sarah2Ball.
