Sarah talks about why Balls2 Marketing had chosen to support Elf Day in 2020
This year, the Balls2 Marketing team is going all out for Elf Day on 3 December to support the Alzheimer’s Society.
At the best of times Alzheimer’s is a horrible disease, it strips away the memories and personality of the person. During the pandemic, for many people the symptoms have come on faster because they’re simply not getting the support and simulation they need. This means we need to support those living with the diagnosis and their carers.
I have a personal reason to support this charity. My dad was diagnosed with Alzheimer’s two years ago and I’ve witnessed first-hand the effect it’s having on both my dad, the patient, and my mum, who delivers so much of his day to day care.
Many charities have lost out too during this time, with fewer donations being made. Charity shops have been affected badly with all but essential shops shutting, and many workplace activities have been kyboshed as more and more people are working from home. Sporting events, including marathons, tough mudders and even fun runs have been cancelled. And the big challenges like climbing Kilimanjaro, trekking the Sahara or cycling from London to Paris, have all been put on hold until international travel can be assured. All these activities add so much to the finances for charities.
That’s why we thought the Balls2 Marketing team could help, not just to raise a bit of money – but also raise awareness for the Alzheimer’s Society.
There will be dressing up, and there’s likely to be some elf food and drink involved. We will be posting on our socials, so remember to tune in on the day.
